Season after Pentecost

“For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.”

Philippians 1:21

St. Paul is . . . intense. Maybe this feels a little over the top. And yet, he’s not just trying to impress us with his commitment to the Way of Jesus. He’s calling us to join him, because he has come to know that Jesus wants nothing more for us than life that is truly life.

Lord of life, grant us a reckless trust in Your goodness and grace so that we come to know, more and more, what it means to say, “living is Christ.” In resurrection hope, we pray. Amen
