“Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it; as it is written: ‘Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!’”
John 12:14-15

Sitting on the donkey, riding it into Jerusalem with the crowd among him waving palms, Jesus enters Jerusalem in a way that reassures the people of God, including us, not to be afraid. What’s about to happen in the story is frightening, but here Jesus reassures us—in a joyous, triumphal entry into the holy city—of what is truly coming.

Holy God, Your heavenly reign is a balm to our deepest fears and longings. Jesus, who has come to be with us, who has come to save us, we praise You this day and always. Amen
